<aside> ▶️ What is “IVS Side Event”? ”IVS2023 KYOTO / IVS Crypto 2023 KYOTO” will take place between 28th June to 30th in Kyoto Miyako Messe as a Main event. “Side Events” should occurred at a nearby venue within the same time period. There will be many kinds of events, small dinners, networking events, hackathon, parties at night clubs, etc. Let’s make IVS and Side Events a synergistic success!!

How to plan a Side Event

Many participants from Japan and abroad are staying in Kyoto not only from June 28 to 30, but also on June 27 and until July 1. All sessions at IVS Kyoto itself are scheduled to end at the evening before 18:00. An official after-party will be held on the last day, late Friday night. Other than the official after-party, there is no other significant side event organized by IVS Kyoto early in the morning or at night.

➡️ Examples of Scheduled Events ・VC or community-sponsored networking party in a rented tavern ・Dinners utilizing hotel banquet rooms for VIPs ・Product PR events ・Night Session Event for Engineers & MEET UP ・NFT community events and BBQs ・Hackathon ・Morning runs, breakfast meetings, Zen mediation meetings, etc…

Some are invitation-only and others are open events. The last IVS Naha had about 20 side events, which were well received! We’ve heard that various communities are already planning side events for this year's Kyoto event, which vary in size from 10 to 1,000 people.

📌 Requirements for holding an official IVS side event

The requirements to be introduced as an "official IVS side event" are as follows.

<aside> 🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Requirements for side events

• Side events are those that we believe can create synergy in a friendly manner with IVS Kyoto.
• The side event should be held by organizations, corporates, and communities that share the MISSION, VISION, and VALUE of IVS, including the MISSION “To be the catalyst for the next generation”.
• The format of the event (e.g. paid or free, invitation-only or open) doesn’t matter. However, the event must provide some kind of preferential treatment, priority, or targeting to IVS participants.
• Organizers should be proactively sharing information with the IVS team in advance (in order to share information with participants)
• The organizers and the contents must not be related to criminal organization. The contents must comply with the law and not violate public morals.
• The side events should respect diversity, including race and gender, and environmental sustainability. </aside>

Note that the organizer is responsible for organizing side events, and IVS cannot be held responsible for any problems that may occur at side events.

<aside> 📣 Proactive sharing the side event’s information

• Information on official side events will be shared with participants atteding IVS.
• Information will be posted on the official website and on the guest information page.
• Guidance to the side events will be provided at Information Center at the main venue. </aside>

IVS does not charge any registration fees for side events. On the other hand, we will only inform participants of side events, but we cannot guarantee they will attract attendees.

The audience of IVS Kyoto includes domestic and international founders, executives, investors, startup employees, developers, researchers, people in charge of innovation at large corporates, students interested in startups, government agencies, etc. We hope we can make it more exciting together!
